Last night I had my first ever artichoke courtesy of Rich Crockett, who not only allowed me to eat the artichoke, but taught me how to prepare this amazing vegetable (which heretofore has COMPLETELY intimidated me), so that I might have lots more to eat now!

she was up until 11:00 last night eating this thing and i only got part of the heart and like 2 leaves!!!
and she ate all the rest!

My first thought was..."you've never had an artichoke? How wierd is that?" But I forget sometimes that not everyone grew up in California. We should try to go to the artichoke festival this year. It's down near Salinas, May 17-19
